
Biography: Henley Roy is a third-year undergraduate student from Chico, CA, double majoring in Business Economics and Biochemistry. At UCLA she is a member of Bruin Chamber Musicians, Alpha Chi Sigma, the Srivastava Lab, and the Petrovic Lab. In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, and going to the beach.
Future Plans: Henley hopes to eventually pursue a career in healthcare finance or healthcare consulting after graduation. This summer, she is planning on conducting research in a UCLA lab, investigating the molecular mechanisms of the tight junction complex. This will deepen her understanding of scientific practices and principles. Over the next year, she will begin applying to jobs at healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, as well as life science-specific consulting firms. She hopes to be able to combine her passions for scientific and economic research to make a positive impact on the healthcare field.
What this scholarship means to me: I am so incredibly grateful to have been selected for the Harold R. Mortenson Endowed Scholarship Fund for the 2025-2026 school year. This scholarship will allow me to focus on my studies in the upcoming academic year, and spend more time in my career-related extracurricular activities. I am so thankful to have been selected for this award, and I hope to prove myself a worthy recipient.
