The UCLA Department of Economics has created a “women in business” video series that spotlights the talent and diversity of some of our most successful alumnae. These community and industry leaders represent fields such as finance, tech, law, and entrepreneurship.

In the videos, business leaders share their own professional journey and advice for students and young alumni. As one of the largest undergraduate majors on campus, the UCLA Department of Economics aims to empower and inspire the next generation of women in business.

Melisa Wilson

BA Economics ‘85

Melisa is former Managing Director of the Leasing & Asset Finance Group (L&AF) of MUFG Union Bank. The L&AF group provides financing to the Fortune 1000 companies, the renewable power industry, U.S. subsidiaries of Asian companies, and MUFG’s client base. She is a distinguished member of our UCLA Economics Board of Visitors, which she joined in 2019.

BA Economics ‘81

Elizabeth is retired Managing Director at Horsley Bridge Partners, a private equity firm which she joined in 2007. She was previously the Chief Investment Officer of Hewlett-Packard Company’s U.S. retirement plans, investing across the major public and private market asset classes. She received her MBA from Stanford University. She is also a valued member of our Economics Board of Visitors.
