On the occasion of UCLA’s Centennial celebration, Lloyd Greif, a highly accomplished, civically engaged investment banker and entrepreneur, delivered the address for the UCLA College’s commencement exercises for its economics graduates on June 15, 2019. Greif, a 1977 economics alumnus, entitled his remarks “Teaching Young Dogs Old Tricks”.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony, Judy Bruner (‘80), illustrates the wide variety of career paths pursued by our students. Judy started at Hewlett Packard and then went onto have executive positions at Palm and SandDisk.
