UCLA Economics Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassador Program
The UCLA Economics Student Ambassador Program supports student connection, peer mentorship, tutoring, events, and community-building across the department.
The UCLA Economics Student Ambassador Program brings together undergraduate students to help strengthen the department community through events, peer mentorship, tutoring support, and other ambassador-led initiatives. Ambassadors work closely with the department to support current students, welcome new Bruins, and help connect students to academic, professional, and community-building opportunities across UCLA Economics.
Student Ambassadors contribute across multiple areas of the department experience, helping students feel more connected, informed, and supported. In addition to the duties listed below, ambassadors on all teams are expected to attend Bruin Day and Commencement, as well as three ambassador meetings per quarter (held from 10am-11am on Friday of Weeks 2, 4, and 8 each term).
Ambassadors plan and coordinate department events such as networking events, student mixers, workshops, career programs, and department-wide engagement initiatives throughout the academic year.
Ambassadors manage a peer-to-peer tutoring program which offers drop-in style tutoring for core Economics courses. They also develop academic resources to support undergraduate students in their economics coursework. Ambassadors on the tutoring team must have at least an A in all Economics core courses, and have completed at least Econ 11 when applying. They are also required to tutor at least one shift per week.
Ambassadors serve as mentors and recruit additional mentors and mentees for the program. They will complete a matching process for mentors and mentees and plan quarterly events for students in the program.
