UCLA Professor Pablo Fajgelbaum Receives the Inaugural Amartya Sen Economics Prize
UCLA Professor Pablo Fajgelbaum has been named the inaugural recipient of the Amartya Sen Economics Prize, awarded by LACEA and the Amartya Sen Economics Prize Foundation. The biennial prize recognizes an outstanding Latin American and Caribbean economist under the age of 45 for an influential body of work and significant contributions to the understanding of economic issues relevant to the region.
Professor Fajgelbaum, originally from Argentina, was selected from more than 100 nominations worldwide. The award recognizes his landmark contributions to international trade and spatial economics, including research on how global integration, trade policy, and transportation infrastructure shape economic opportunities across people and regions.
